In celebration of their two new translations, The Colors of Infamy and Proud Beggars, New Directions and NYRB Classics present a panel discussion of the late Egyptian author Albert Cossery. With biting wit and an anarchist bent, Cossery’s novels explore the political and cultural pitfalls of the Middle East. The panel features: translator Alyson Waters; Anna Moschovakis, poet and translator of Cossery’s The Jokers; and Anna Della Subin, associate editor of Bidoun; and will be moderated by Robyn Creswell, poetry editor of The Paris Review.
