Joel Dailey to perform at Open Books' Grand Re-Opening

World famous New Orleans poet Joel Dailey and world-famous Pensacola poet Jamey Jones will perform from their most recent books of poetry Saturday, February 4th at 7pm as a part of the grand re-opening celebration for Open Books. Dailey, long-time editor of "Fell Swoop" and the author of several books of poetry, including his most recent book "Surprised By French Fries" (Ugly Duckling Press, NYC). Jones, Pensacola's unofficial poet laureate, is the editor and author of numerous journals and books. His most recent book, "Blue Rain Morning" (Farfalla, NYC) has been described as "a jolt of the glorious quotidian" (Anne Waldman) and compared to the work of Frank O'Hara and Philip Whalen. Both poets are well known in the Pensacola poetry scene and will be performing to celebrate the re-opening of Open Books, the traditional home to regional poets since 2007. This event is free and open to the public. Grand Opening celebrations will be taking place starting at noon with musicians and artists helping to welcome Open Books to its new home in the Longhollow Neighborhood in Downtown Pensacola.
