At apexart’s Double Take reading series, poets, novelists, editors, and artists are invited to create and share an original work in response to a single, open-ended prompt, in this instance: Fun. As a result, apexart audiences experience a one-of-a-kind evening of stories and reflections.

Joanna Fuhrman is the author of 5 books of poetry, most recently The Year of the Yellow Butterflies (Hanging Loose Press 2015) and Pageant (Alice James Books 2009).

Rachel Levitsky is the author of Under the Sun (Futurepoem, 2003), NEIGHBOR (UDP, 2009), and The Story of My Accident is Ours (Futurepoem, 2013), and a number of chapbooks, including, HopefullyThe Island, part of her collaboration with Susan Bee.

John Madera‘s fiction is published in Conjunctions, Sonora Review, The &Now Awards 2: The Best Innovative Writing, and many other journals.

Val Vinokur is the author of The Trace of Judaism: Dostoevsky, Babel, Mandelstam, Levinas and Relative Genitive: Poems with Translations from Osip Mandelstam and Vladimir Mayakovsky, and has appeared in The Boston Review, LitHub, New American Writing, The Literary Review, MCSweeney’s, and The Massachusetts Review.
