Widely regarded as one of the best academic bookstores in the world, the Seminary Co-op houses an extensive collection of scholarly titles, with a focus on the humanities and social sciences. The store was founded in 1961 as a 17-member co-operative. In 2019, the Co-op and its sibling store, 57th Street Books, became the country’s first not-for-profit bookstores whose mission is bookselling.
