Abu Amir al-Fadl ibn Ismail al-Jurjani

Abu Amir al-Fadl ibn Ismail al-Jurjani was a state secretary of Gorgan (Iran) in its late Ziyarid period, and a member of the circle around the scholar ‘Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani (d. 1078 CE). His books, including a work of Quranic studies, an anthology of Arabic poetry, and a Consolation for Out-of-Towners, are now lost, but his poetry endures in anthologies and biographical dictionaries of later periods.
