“In the slight dissonance between voice as primary and text as fundamental, Â I feel a strange, troubling quiet build,” writes Dan Beachy-Quick of the project—“A Quiet Book”—that he will be premiering at this very unique event. Hosted in the presence of Houghton Library’s Shakespeare quartercentenary exhibition this reading brings together Beachy-Quick’s recent considerations of the fabrications of silence with Jen Bervin’s innovative erasures of Shakespeare’s sonnets (published as Nets, by Ugly Duckling Presse) and other current works.
