KBG Poetry presents a poetry reading with UDP author and translator Eugene Ostashevsky, along with Karl Parker.
Eugene Ostashevsky is a Russian-born American poet and translator. His two-and-some-odd books poetry include Iterature and The Life and Opinions of DJ Spinoza, both released by Ugly Duckling Presse. He also edited and co-translated OBERIU: An Anthology of Russian Absurdism, containing the writings of 1930s poets and philosophers like Alexander Vvedensky and Daniil Kharms. He is currently working on a book about the relationship between a pirate and a parrot. Karl Parker lives in Geneva NY and professes literature and creative writing at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. A recipient of the 2004 National Arts Club Award for Poetry, Parker received an MFA from the New School and is currently completing his PhD at Cornell. His chapbook Harmstorm was published in 2006 by Lame House Press. His work has appeared in journals such as Fence, The Seneca Review, Spoon River, Gedankenstrich (Berlin), No Tell Motel, MiPoesias, and The Tiny. His first book of poems is Personationskin from No Tell Books.
