Poetry Reading
Lewis Freedman’s poetry is a rewardingly difficult and trenchantly modern attempt to say the unsayable. The prose poems in his most recent book, Residual Synonyms for the Name of God, invoke the power of language not to name, to endlessly circumscribe the impossibility of calling forth the deity, the community, the family and the individual. His work resides on the line between sense and extrasensory perception.
