SPONTANEOUS SOCIETY (WV) / Jon Cotner
Elastic City commissions artists to lead conceptual walks through the New York (and beyond). UDP author Jon Cotner will lead a walk in June called “Spontaneous Society”.

For this walk, poet Jon Cotner will give each participant two sentences to repeat to strangers on the sidewalk. The sentences are ordinary (“That carriage looks pretty cozy”; “That’s a good-looking dog”; etc.), and focused on ordinary scenarios. These lines shatter –open up – daily reality. Anonymity dissolves. Spontaneous societies arise.

There are 4 walks by Jon Cotner, each in a different part of town. Each walk holds 5 people.
