Brent Cunningham is the author of the poetry collections Journey to the Sun (Atelos, 2012) and Bird & Forest (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2005). His chapbook, The Sad Songs of Hell, was published by Ugly Duckling Presse in November 2017. He lives in Oakland, California, with the poet Melissa Benham and their two children. Eugene Ostashevsky, born in Leningrad, USSR, grew up in New York, lived in 1990s in the Bay Area, where he performed with 9X9 Industries and Vainglorious. Now lives mainly in Berlin, where he studies translingual issues. His latest book of poetry, The Pirate Who Does Not Know the Value of Pi, published by the New York Review of Books, contemplates communication challenges faced by pirates and parrots. His previous book of poetry, The Life and Opinions of DJ Spinoza, published by Ugly Duckling Presse in Brooklyn, examines the defects of natural and artificial languages.
