DC native Ailish Hopper is the author of the chapbook, Bird in the Head, selected by Jean Valentine for the Center for Book Arts chapbook prize. Individual poems have appeared in Agni, APR, American Letters & Commentary, Ploughshares, Poetry, and Tidal Basin Review, as well as many other places. She’s received support from Yaddo, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Baltimore Commission for the Arts and Humanities, and teaches at Goucher College in Baltimore.
Matvei Yankelevich's recent books are Alpha Donut (United Artists Books, 2012), the chapbook Bending at the Elbow (Minutes Books, 2011), and the novel-in-fragments, Boris by the Sea (Octopus Books, 2009). He is the translator and editor of Today I Wrote Nothing: The Selected Writings of Daniil Kharms (Overlook, 2007). His translations of Russian poetry have appeared in many periodicals including Harpers, New American Writing, Poetry, and the New Yorker, and in several anthologies. He is one of the founding editors of Ugly Duckling Presse, and a member of the writing faculty of the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College.
