at Atwater Crossing

Poets and renaissance people Maggie Nelson, Will Hubbard and Sam Solomon will be reading June 2nd at Atwater Crossing beginning at 7:30, so please come around seven to get good seats and delicious pizzas and enjoy the excellent company and music. This is going to be a wonderful night, so bring a friend. He or she will definitely thank you later. Maggie Nelson: Guggenheim fellow, recipient of many awards and grants for her poetry and non fiction, professor at CalArts, she is widely published and thankfully so. Her next book, The Art of Cruelty, is forthcoming from WW Norton. Will Hubbard: Cursivisms, just published by Ugly Duckling Presse, is his first book, and he's coming to LA to read just for us (I tell myself). "This book gives me clues and it gives me an answer—which is that perspective is everything we are searching for in this lifetime. Hubbard has figured this out for us. Let this book show you the way," says Dorothy Lasky. Sam Solomon: Writing and translating poetry, working on his dissertation, delighting you like Once Upon a Dream. You will not want to miss this opportunity to hear Sam read. Sound and music before, between and after readings by DJ Trent. Food by ATX Eatery. Books for sale by Libros Schmibros of Boyle Heights.
