About the Book

Catalina Vargas Tovar’s Lemonade: A Paranormal Investigation, translated from the Spanish by Juliana Borrero, is an exploration of a mountain’s presence and power. In this bilingual chapbook, “incoherent” humanity is brought into sharp relief against the mountain, who “absorbs water / in excess / turns it into language,” as Tovar attentively proposes a mode of sense-making that dives beyond the human, deep into the entrails of the landscape.

Among her recent publications are Piscinas ( La Trenza), La fauna enamorada (Matera) Limonada, una investigación paranormal (Cajón de sastre) La selva de noche (Barcú) and Crimen en la isla esponja (Cajón de sastre).
