Programs
UDP offers a variety of in-person and virtual programs as part of our broader mission to serve writers, poets, artists, and readers and to sustain an alternative ecosystem for artistic production and distribution.
Workshops & Seminars: UDP editors, authors, and staff teach popular one-day seminars and four-session workshops on writing, poetics, letterpress printing, and bookmaking. Workshops and seminars are either free or affordably priced and are usually limited to 8 to 10 participants. They are open to community members regardless of prior experience and are held online or our studio, located at the Old American Can Factory (232 Third Street #E-303, in Gowanus, Brooklyn).
Presse Days: UDP invites volunteers to learn bookmaking techniques and directly participate in the production of our chapbooks and books.
Open Studios: During Open Studios, we open up our space for co-writing sessions, skill shares, protest sign printing, and more.
